The award acknowledged the important part DCCL curtains are now playing in minimising infection such as MRSA in hospitals, GP surgeries and health centres across the country.

DCCL’s cubicle curtains are currently in use at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, and have been found to reduce MRSA and infection.

The curtain features a patented stalk that fits directly to existing hospital tracks and is treated with a residual biocide that kills bacteria on contact, minimising infection. All these elements were recognised by the Queen’s Office. DCCL was one of 43 other UK companies to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Innovation.

Peter Gardner, chairman for DCCL, said: ?’We are honoured that we have been awarded such a prestigious accolade and for our product to be recognised in this way. Infection control is such a high priority in all healthcare environments and we are proud to be playing such an important part in the fight against it.’
