Envair has successful year of trading under new ownership
One year on, under its new ownership, Envair can report a profitable turnover in excess of £2m for its first year of trading. Contracts won and completed since the acquisition, include a £400k drug line for a company in Ireland and a total of 50 standard and bespoke pharmaceutical isolators for hospitals and the pharma industry.
Bassaire, the new owner, is an established clean air company in the UK and the Bassaire Group has enjoyed a period of sustained growth with profits rising from £1.2m to £12m in the space of seven years. Bassaire md, Neil Thomas, says that Envair was previously a well-established clean air and containment business supplying isolator and safety cabinet products. Seeing the company’s potential he set about re-building on its past strengths while making it a subsidiary of the Bassaire Group. Key Envair technical, sales, service and production staff have been reappointed, with Gary Bagshaw named managing director.
The company’s new strategy will concentrate on improving both sales and service and the enhancement of the existing product range. The company will also operate out of a more compact space in the original Envair factory Thomas said Bassaire has given a clear demonstration of its commitment to the venture by purchasing the factory, adding that existing contracts have also been completed.
'The financial strength and commitment of Bassaire has been key in persuading suppliers and subcontractors to support the new company, and made it possible to retain the internationally known name of Envair.' said Thomas
Andy Cockcroft has been reappointed to run the cleanroom activity as a separate subsidiary of Bassaire - Envair Projects - working closely with Envair itself from the same site. John Neiger, one of the founding directors of the original Envair in 1972, has also been retained as a consultant to the new company.
The company continues to sell its complete range of positive, negative and gassed isolators (including rapid gassing), class I, II, III and III/I microbiological safety cabinets, vertical laminar flow enclosures and containment booths, as well as application-based derivatives of all of these.
After-sales service, seen as key to customers, has been improved and the company now has nine engineers located to provide service support, commissioning and validation nationwide.
A close association with Envair Projects and other members of the Bassaire Group enables Envair to offer complete turnkey solutions for cleanroom and pharmacy aseptic units including Envair’s popular transportable sterile suite (TSS).
