Shield Medicare, a leading manufacturer of sterile contamination control products and medical devices for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and hospital cleanroom applications, has introduced the Klerpack Sterile Chemo Spill Mat.
The mat, which is designed to prevent cytotoxic and other drugs from coming into contact with staff preparing chemotherapy doses in a cleanroom, quickly absorbs any spills, thereby preventing the spread of potentially dangerous liquid and reducing the risk of contamination.
The mat's high absorbency and blue colour mean that even a drop of spilt liquid will be noticed, enabling appropriate action to be taken efficiently. It measures 410 x 540mm and can absorb up to 100ml of liquid.
Ideal for Grade A and Grade B areas, the mat is cleanroom processed and gamma irradiated, while its composition prevents the generation of particulates. It is also individually double bagged for easy transfer in polythene easy-to-open packaging, meaning that no paper has to be introduced into the cleanroom.
