UV Flu ViraTech UV-400 enters hospitality sector
Puravair, the main distributor of the ViraTech air purification product line from UV Flu Technologies in the US, has started to install units in the hospitality, hotel and spa sector.
The Seagate Hotel and Spa in Delray Beach, Florida, and the Boston Harbor Hotel, in Boston, MA have both introduced the ViraTech UV-400 air purification product into their premises.
‘Hotels, hospitals and medical waiting rooms are all a potentially huge market for our products,’ said Jack Lennon, president of UV Flu Technologies.
The company has recently changed the name of its devices from ViraGuard to ViraTech to underscore the technological advancement in its products and has increased its salesforce to 120 personnel.
‘Now that shipments of our recently improved UV-400 air purifier are about to arrive at our shipment depot in Boston, we have seen consumer interest spike, and the increased commitment and growth within our distribution network result in the fielding of a large sales team ready to get out and spread the word about this healthcare product. We are well on the way to our goal of 200 active sales reps by the end of July,’ said Lennon.
UV-400 units have been in operation at two Boston Hospitals, New England Baptist Hospital, and with the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital, since April.
‘Hospitals generally look for ways to stay ahead of the curve regarding the safety of their patients and staff,’ said Bill Fegley, president of Puravair.
‘These two particular hospitals are well known for their proactive approach in this area. Given the UV-400's FDA clearance rating and lab test results which prove the unit kills over 99% of bacteria with every pass, how could any hospital not want to evaluate these units? We are thrilled with the feedback we're getting from both hospitals.’
