Valutek introduces comfortable cleanroom glove

Valutek, a US manufacturer of cleanroom supplies, has developed a reusable polyurethane-coated nylon cleanroom glove, which it claims silences the three most common complaints about cleanroom gloves, namely that they are constrictive, uncomfortable and ill-fitting.

The Phoenix, Arizona-based firm has also introduced colour-coded product ordering and clearly marked packaging to identify to which cleanroom environment its products are suited.

Valutek claims its glove is the first comfortable, reusable glove suitable for Class 10,000+ cleanroom environments.

The company has coated its industry-proven nylon glove in polyurethane (PU) on its front-facing parts. The backside of the glove remains breathable and comfortable, while the palm and fingers are safe for contact with products. The coating also protects against abrasions and tears, further shielding both operator and product.

Valutek’s colour-coded product ordering system clearly shows whether a product is suitable for a Micro, Macro or Nano cleanroom environment.

There are 8 colour-coded product categories:

• Blue – Gloves
• Lime – Glove Liners
• Yellow – Cleaning & Maintenance
• Mustard – Adhesive Mats
• Maroon – Documentation
• Red – Wipers
• Green – Apparel
• Purple – ESD Compliant Fingercots, Shoecovers, Wipers and More

Once orders have been placed, the products are vacuum-sealed to ensure the highest level of protection against contamination during transit. They are then placed in boxes with convenient and highly visible coding to identify which cleanroom environment they belong in:

• Grey Label – MacroTek: ISO 7+ (Class 10,000+)
• Blue Label – MicroTek: ISO 5-6 (Class 100-1,000)
• Full Colour Label – NanoTek: ISO 3-4 (Class 1-10)

The boxes are then sealed with anti-counterfeit tape.
